Forest Hills Robotics League Coaching Policy

Coach Commitment

Volunteer coaches are a crucial part of our league, we fully appreciate our volunteers who step up and take on the coaching responsibility. Coaching comes with an important commitment to the team, as the team is formed based on the assumption that there is a coach to lead the team,  the coach needs to be able to commit to the following:

• Be able to attend all scheduled meetings.

• If a coach can’t attend a meeting, the coach is responsible to find a backup coach for that meeting at least 1 day ahead of the meeting.

• Provide by the end of the 2nd session, a lesson plan for the session.  The coaches will need to review the plan with one of the directors.

Refund Policy

• If a coach decides to quit after August 10th his/her child will lose the spot on the team and they will not be eligible for any refund for their child.

• If a coach’s child decides to leave the team, the coach will only be eligible to receive refund if he fulfills his commitment to continue as a coach for the team.

What FHRL will provide for the coaches:

• Coach training and support throughout the season

• Season challenge

• Basic curriculum

• Equipment

• Research Project Cost Reimbursement (up to $50 JFLL & $100 for FLL)
