2015-2016 FLL Challenge: Trash Trek

We’re not talking trash – we’re cleaning it up!  In the 2015 FIRST® LEGO® League TRASH TREKSM Challenge, 290,000 children ages 9 to 16* from over 80 countries will explore the fascinating world of trash.  From collection, to sorting, to smart production and reuse, there is more to your trash than meets the eye.  Join FIRST LEGO League teams on a Trash Trek to discover the hidden (or not so hidden) world of trash!

2015-2016 JFLL Challenge: Waste Wise
Challenge release Date: Aug 2015 
Junior FIRST® LEGO® League teams are about to learn that throwing something in the trash is only the beginning.  In the 2015-2016 WASTE WISESM Challenge, over 34,500 children ages 6 to 9 from 18 countries will look at trash in a whole new way.  From reducing, to reusing, to recycling, and beyond, find out what making trash really means.  Prepare to become Waste Wise!

Congratulations to FTC team 8721, Mighty Mechanics for winning the "Think Award" at the East Harlem Qualifier.

Team Mighty Mechanics  (#8721) had a great competition at the Francis Lewis West Qualifier. The team received five award nominations and won the Think Award and 2nd Place Inspire Award which qualified the team to compete in the FTC New York/Long Island Championship on February 28th, 2016 at Townsend Harris High School in Queens.


NY1 news was onsite at the Francis Lewis Tournament, and several of our team members were interviewed for the NY1 news as well as the Times Ledger article on the Robotics Competition.

Congratulations to all our FLL teams for their outstanding performance at the Queens Tournament. Four of our FHRL teams were qualified to continue onto the NYC Championship at the Jacob Javits Center on March 12.

The March 12 NYC FLL Championship is a *FREE* event that is open to the public. All are welcome! Mark your calendar and come cheer for our Forest Hills Teams! Go FHRL!
