FTC Tournament Schedule

QUALIFIERS OVERVIEW

Teams are allowed to participate in no more than two qualifiers in any location they choose based on a bidding system. ONLY ONE QUALIFIER IS GUARAUNTEED

In this 2013-2014 season, there will be five FTC qualifiers in total:

  • Sunday, Jan 19, 2014 @ Hewlett High School (Long Island)
  • Sunday, Jan 26 @ 2014 @ Benjamin Banneker HS (Brooklyn)
  • Saturday, Feb 8, 2014 @ The Dalton School (Manhattan)
  • Saturday, Feb 15, 2014 @ Murry Bergtraum High School (Manhattan)
  • Saturday, Mar 1, 2014 @ Syosset High School (Long Island)

The fee to participate in a Qualifier is $100 per qualifier, per team.

The tournament structure would be the same as past championships. For example, there will be robot inspection, hardware inspection, judging interviews, engineering notebooks. The same structure, just a smaller venue and group.

Tournaments will have 24 to 30 teams based on the space at locations. The number of teams advancing from each qualifier will be determined on the size of qualifier. Teams will advance to the next level of competition in the order indicated below according to the number of spots available. —The advancement criteria will be applied to teams advancing from Qualifying Tournaments to Championship;from Championship Tournaments to Super-Regional Championships; from Super-Regional Championship Tournaments to the FTC World Championship in St. Louis, Missouri. —In the event that the team listed has already advanced or there is no team fitting that description (as in 2nd team selected at smaller events), the advancement will continue in order.

FIRST Tech Challenge Agenda

8:00AM: Teams arrive and go to registration

8:15AM: Practice fields available; Practice rounds begin
8:40AM: Registration closes
9:00AM: Drivers Team Meeting (including Coaches) on the fields
9:15AM: Final Team List to the Scoring Table; Qualifying Matches Set
9:30AM: Opening Ceremonies Begin
10:00AM: Opening Ceremonies Conclude
10:15AM: Start of Qualifying Matches
12:45PM: Completion of Qualifying Matches; Rankings Posted; Selection of 4 Alliances per Division
1:15PM: Break for Lunch
1:45PM: End of Lunch; MC and Game Announcer call teams for restart of Game
