How to Become a Sponsor

Forest Hills Robotics League Inc. (FHRL) is an independent entity that conducts its programs at various locations in Forest Hills. FHRL is a non-profit 501 (c) volunteer organization comprised of Robotics team members and their parents, coaches, and alumni. Membership fees pay for approximately 60% of our expenditures. The remainder of our budget depends entirely upon fund raising activities, donations and local business sponsorships.

Currently, FHRL averages 130+ participants and since the club was formed in 2006, membership has doubled every season. With enough funding and resources, FHRL can easily continue to grow at the same rate, if not faster as demonstrated by our long waiting list.

FHRL hosts several open house events and demonstrations for our community and schools during the year. Each event attracts hundreds of families from all five boroughs and Long Island that are interested in science, technology and robotics.

FHRL participates in NYC's Junior FIRST Lego League(JFLL) Expo, FIRST LEGO League (FLL) tournaments and FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Tournaments. Every year our teams compete at the Queens Qualifying Tournaments and have won numerous awards in years past. Our qualified teams then continues to compete in the NYC Citywide Championships. The FIRST Championships attracts thousands of participants and their families from all five boroughs and the tri-state areas. 

What is FIRST

FIRST, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit was founded in 1989 by Dean Kamen, a prolific inventor and entrepreneur. His mission is to help young people discover the excitement and rewards from science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) while building their self-confidence, knowledge and life skills. FIRST has inspired over 800,000 young people to participate in its programs and robotics competitions worldwide. 

Business and corporate sponsors are critical at helping Forest Hills Robotics League achieve its mission to enrich our youth education in science and technology through robotics competition.

The generosity of our sponsors keeps program fees at accessible levels for all children in our community. Fees paid by participants only partially cover the costs of the equipment and tournaments.

Additional funds are needed and are essential for every aspect of our program from robotic kits and laptop equipment to providing robotics scholarships. Your sponsorship of FHRL will provide exceptional access to a large target market of families who are high income and technology oriented consumers.
